Fall is here

A nice day with clear and crisp air - that’s one of my favourite types of weather!
(Although it’s raining in the photo, it’s a good indicator of the fact that fall is here.)

Comments (0)The harddisk arrived the day after I ordered it! I plugged it into the laptop and booted with the XP CD. After the installation was done, I had to install all the other softwares I need. It took almost the whole afternoon/evening before everything was done, but now I have a faster laptop with four times more space! I’m very satisfied!
I’m having the morning shift (6:00am - 2:00pm) this week, and today I woke up at 6:30!! Hurry, hurry! Switch on the coffee maker, call work and tell them I’m late, put new lenses in my eyes, drink two cups of coffee, walk the yellow dog and drive to work… Not a good start of the day…

Comments (0)Today I ordered a new harddisk for my laptop. The HD I looked at earlier was not in stock, so I had to take another one because I’m in a little bit of a hurry. I need to get my laptop up and running, since I have a lot of work to do (websites to update and freelance articles for a magazine to finish).
Hopefully the new HD will arrive tomorrow or wednesday.
The HD I’ve ordered is a Western Digital Scorpio 2.5" 80 GB.

The harddisk in my laptop is broken. The last couple of days I’ve got a lot of bluescreens and hangings. At an early stage I suspected that the harddisk is going to crash, so I’ve managed to backup all the important files (at least I think so – there’s for sure one or another file that I’ll be missing).
I need to buy a new harddisk - the sooner the better. I’ve looked at a Hitachi Travelstar 5k160 80 GB 2.5”. That disk is a lot faster that the IBM 20 GB I have now, and with four times more space I think it’s a good deal (the price is 550 SEK, around $80 USD).
